Beijing Olympic Game 08-08-2008 at 8pm...

Beijing Olympic Game is coming very soon. I always enjoy and like to watch sports games such as Olympic, Asian Games, Commonwealth and also SEA Games. The Olympic torch relay has been in Malaysia last week and now it is back to China. There were protests during the torch relay but I really hope that try not to link politics with Sports competition. It is a competition that can unite the sportsmen/women, officials as well as fans from countries around the world. Olympic is being held every four years. The last Olympic game was held at Athens, Greece.

The opening ceromony of this year Olympic game will start at 8pm on 8th August 2008. So many "8s". FAT FAT FAT....hehe...

The Official Mascots of the Beijing Olympic Game are:

Like the Five Olympic Rings from which they draw their color and inspiration, Fuwa will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace -- and good wishes from China -- to children all over the world.

Designed to express the playful qualities of five little children who form an intimate circle of friends, Fuwa also embody the natural characteristics of four of China's most popular animals -- the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow -- and the Olympic Flame.

Each of Fuwa has a rhyming two-syllable name -- a traditional way of expressing affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow.

When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say 'Welcome to Beijing,' offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games.
Fuwa also embody both the landscape and the dreams and aspirations of people from every part of the vast country of China. In their origins and their headpieces, you can see the five elements of nature -- the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky -- all stylistically rendered in ways that represent the deep traditional influences of Chinese folk art and ornamentation.
Spreading Traditional Chinese Good Wishes Wherever They Go

In the ancient culture of China, there is a grand tradition of spreading good wishes through signs and symbols. Each of Fuwa symbolizes a different blessing -- and will honor this tradition by carrying their good wishes to the children of the world. Prosperity, happiness, passion, health and good luck will be spread to every continent as Fuwa carry their invitation to Beijing 2008 to every part of the globe.

At the heart of their mission -- and through all of their work -- Fuwa will seek to unite the world in peace and friendship through the Olympic spirit. Dedicated to helping Beijing 2008 spread its theme of One World, One Dream to every continent, Fuwa reflect the deep desire of the Chinese people to reach out to the world in friendship through the Games -- and to invite every man, woman and child to take part in the great celebration of human solidarity that China will host in the light of the flame in 2008.

Important of friends

Friends are very important to us. There is a chinese proverb, "We depend on our family members when we are at home, while we depend on our friends when we are away or out of home" Friends are part of my life. They can help us when we face some troubles and problems. On the other hand, they need us when they need help.

There is another quotation about "to become a friend is better than to become an enemy". We can share our happiness and sadness with our friends. It can make us feel better and happier. So, please do appreciate that you have good friends around you. Sometimes, just a "hi message through sms or phone call" will make your friends feel very warm. Friends also do not mean that we have to always meet together yumcha and see each other very often. It is just a matter of sincere heart feeling of your friends. A period of time we meet once is just enough and I can assure you that you all will have alot of topics to chit chat about. That is just my opinion.

Anyway, I would like to thanks to all my friends for being part of my life, willing to listen my sharing of life and so on. To my secondary school friends, my maktab duli college friends, my hometown friends, my utar friends, my BDO colleagues, and all those friends who know me...all the best to you guys in the future. Hope that we will always keep in touch and take care. I also wish you that you guys will live happily forever and smile always!!! Cheers...

ACCA

ACCA is a the largest world recognized professional accounting body. It has been around for the past 100 years and this body is growing not only in size but also its influence across the globe. ACCA has more than 80 offices around the world while there are members and students in 170 countries including Malaysia.

I plan to take ACCA in July intake this year. Since I graduated with a UTAR's Bachelor degree in accounting, I am eligible for the maximum exemption of 9 papers. This means that I left 5 more papers in order to complete the ACCA professional course. With 3 years working experience in accounting firm, I will be able to become the Chartered Accountant as well as ACCA member. For the July intake, I want to take both P1 and P3 while P2 will be taken next year. The last two optional papers will then be attempted during July intake next year. This plan will move smoothly provided that I pass all the papers in one sitting.

It will need a lot of hard works in order to succeed in their examination. In addition, part time study is not going to be easy since you need to work for long hours while you still need to concentrate in our study. However, I will determine to try my best to complete all the 5 ACCA papers left in one and a half year time.

After working in audit firm for 3 to 4 years, I wish that I will be able to go oversea to work and stay there for few years. I want to experience different culture and working condition as well as the environment to improve myself. But, I will surely come back to Malaysia to contribute back to the society and country where I born. Forget about those political issues and stuff, I love my country very much.

Good luck to myself and also all the best to all my friends who are taking ACCA exam this coming May. Believe in yourself that you guys can do it. Cheers...

Food and shopping...

Just after my roommate came back home from JB on Saturday, we two decided to go out have our lunch at Midvalley to meet Anne who came to KL from Pahang to have fun. My other housemates have either went back hometown or went out with friends, so just left us two. We had our lunch of Japanese food at Yoshinoya. I ordered the salmon value meal. We chatted there for an hour before going home.

We two thought of going up to Genting Highlands to have fun. But, no one want to accompany us and so this plan was cancelled. Too bad. Then, we went to fetch Anne at the Lrt station to yumcha in a cafe next to Deloitte to find Kean yap to have dinner. At the end, we only ordered drinks. That's not end of my Saturday. We then fetch Anne back to her friend's house at Wangsa Maju (near BRJ's mamak). It took us more than half an hour to find the flat. She then decided not to go out yumcha with us as it was already late and the place is not so safe.

After that, yong joo fetched me to try the popular nasi lemak at Mali Corner, near to KTAR. I heard that this place was officiated by the Selangor Mentri Besar when it first opened. I ordered the nasi lemak ayam and it is really nice. I think the special things are the sambal and rice. We then met out ex-coursemate, Shyan Hui who stayed in her cousin house at TBR. We three yumcha at the TBR's mamak, which is just next to the Mali Corner. The roti there is a bit special as there have different car brand names like Roti Waja and so on. I ordered the Roti Yamaha which is made by the mix of Sardin, Bawang... We chit chatted until 3.30am before we decided it's time to go back.

On Sunday, we two invited Zhe quan to go out shopping at One Utama. At first, he declined to go because he did not want to drive. So, we decided to drive to his house to force him out and at the end, he followed us. Another purpose of going to One Utama was to wash our photos since Yong joo has the discount voucher. I washed out more than 200 photos, taken during the past one year in my university life as well as my recent convocation and fam nite photos. While waiting for the photos to be washed, we went to try the nice burger at Carl's Junior. The burger ordered by Yong joo is very big that he was so full. I ordered the BBQ Chicken burger which is not as big as his one but it was very nice.

After collecting the photo, we decided to go to shop at Ikea. Tell you guys, it was my very first time shopping in Ikea although I have been to the Curve and Cineleisure for few times. Ikea is connected with Ikano, Cineleisure, Tesco and the Curve. The furniture there seems very nice and with alot of varieties to choose from. We didnt buy any furniture but the cheap frames to put some of our photos. We then went to eat the ice cream and the curry puff set which includes the refillable soft drink (cost only RM3). I also heard it is a must to try the nice curry puff and icecream if you go to shop at Ikea.

Our last destination is at Murni, a very popular mamak at PJ. I ordered the nice "Nga Bou Lou Xu Fan" while they two ordered the Mee Raja. I helped them eat some of the mee raja, a special type of mee since they could not finish the food. Oh my god, I really ate too much during this weekend, and it is time again for me to keep fit and not eat too much during the weekdays. But, I quite enjoyed this weekend with my very good friends.

Raining weekend...

Last Friday, I, Yong Joo, Zhe Quan and Fook Weng went to the Gardens after our breifing in office. We met with Yen Thoong and Liang Bing there as they have arrived earlier. We had our dinner at "Purple Cane Tea". The food is quite nice. Every food seems relate to tea, even the rice is also called the green tea rice. The purpose of this gathering was to celebrate Yong Joo and Liang Bing's advanced and bated birthday respectively. My roommate Yong Joo is going to Johor to audit for a week and he will be going back to audit in Klang. Although it was not a surprise birthday gathering as they knew that before, but we have really great fun that night and morning.

Good friends....celebrating Ah Joo and Liang Bing Birthday

After the dinner, we just felt that it was still early and we still have alot of topics to talk. We decided to go to a cafe to have a drink at Cheras. That's not it. We then ended up yumcha in a mamak stall nearby. It was quite a long time that I didnt hang up with friends till very late of night. We departed back home at 3am.

On Sunday, I went to Sungei Wang alone to pass the graduation photo to my brother's wife colleague and to collect my spare handphone from him. He would help me pass to my family when back Brunei. After shopping around there for a while, I realised that Karen was having a concert at Sungei Wang. Karen is the previous student of FAM, UTAR. She released her first Chinese album recently and that mini concert was her 50th so far.

I departed to take monorail and lrt to home. But, when I just reached the main entrance of Sungei Wang, it started to rain very heavily. Since I didnt bring umbrealla, I had no choice but to run under the rain. The worst part was when I reached the lrt station near by my house. The road was flooded with water. I was getting fully wet when I reached home after eating at a mamak to wait for the rain to stop. But it seems that the rain would not stop shortly.

At night, I went to have dinner with previous coursemates including Hon Fei, Kean Yap, JY, Esther, Hui Wen and Kelvin at Manhattan Fish market in the CineLeisure. The food there is always nice. We ended up to have a drink at Friendster located at the Damansara Uptown area.

This morning, I had my dimsum buffet breaksfast with my housemates, yen thoong and Hon fet. The buffet was not so expensive and the food there is consider not bad. We all were superbly full and that was the time when we decided to go back home. Hehe.

Kuala Selangor Trip and Klang Bahkuteh

Last Saturday, I went to Kuala Selangor with 13 of my UTAR Xiaxiang friends. We departed from Sungai Long around 2pm and after finding the resort for quite some time, we reached around 4.30pm. After checking in to the apartment/condo, we went to have a short swim and then walked to the beach nearby. We took quite a number of photos there. We then departed to eat nice seafood before we went to see the fireflies. This was my second time going to Kuala Selangor. Last time was when I organized the UTAR orientation city tour for freshies to join. The fireflies there are not as many as we expected but they are very nice and beautiful.

On Sunday morning, we went to Klang, the hometown of another xiaxiang friend of us, Peter. He brought us to eat nice and delicious bahkuteh at Teluk Pulai Restaurant. After the lunch, we went to shop at Bukit Tinggi Jusco for few hours. Before we ended our enjoyable trip and went back home, we went to Peter house to visit his parents. Thanks to wen qing for fetching me back my home at Bandar Sri Permaisuri.

For all my friends who are graduating this May, all the best to you guys in the future. I hope that you guys can find a job soon. For those who want to further their studies, good luck. And for all my utar friends who are still studying, examination is coming soon. Study hard as well as smart!!!

Today is the beginning of another week. I start auditing Thai Thong Resources Bhd as I have done the interim audit for the shipping company at Port Klang. I am sure that my busy life will start again very soon, at least next week if not this week.
