Hong Kong Entertainment Industry: Great Losses

Fei JIe (Kai Xin Guo) has just passed away because of liver cancer last week. I did love to watch her programs and I missed her laughter so much. Watching her programs can make me feel happier. Anyway, since her death is already a reality, I just have to accept it and I also want to wish her all the best in another world, perhaps.

Beside, Edison has withdrawn himself from the Hong Kong Entertainment industry because of the sex photos he took with few other female artists. In my opinion, I think his sex photos are his private things and there is no problem with it. However, since the photos were spread through the internet, he had no choice but to make this decision to withdraw. He will no longer be accepted by majority of the Hong Kong and even Asian community. However, he may be going to the Hollywood to be an actor for “The Batman, the third series”. The authority and police should try their best to catch those who started to spread the photos through the internet.

This incident also indicates one of the disadvantage of the modern technology including internet. Please do not misuse this as the modern technology also will bring to us a lot of benefits including efficiency and effectiveness of our work and so on.

End of my first weekend!!!

On Saturday morning and afternoon, I watched Hong Kong TVB drama and Taiwan entertainment programs other than washing my clothes and reading previous few days’ newspapers. Yong Joo, my housemate came back from Klang at noon. Hon Fei fetched me and Yong Joo went to have dinner in Cheras at 7pm before we went to clubbing at Scarlet situated inside the CineLeisure, beside the Curve. We reached there around 9pm and we also met with Hon Fei’s other friends. Then, we went to have dinner with his friend in Station Kopitiam.

After that, we proceeded to Scarlet before 10pm so that we would not have to pay the entrance fee. We were almost the first one to arrive there. However, a lot of other tables were already reserved by others. We were entitled 2 bottle of Hennesy since Hon Fei’s friends had the two free vouchers. We started dancing around our table areas since there is no proper dancing floor there. Too bad. Anyway, we just had fun and we continue to dance while drinking for the next 3 hours non-stop. I never danced for so long before, and now my back was a bit painful. We left the place at 2.30am and Hon Fei fetched us to eat our supper at Stephen Corner in Pandan Indah.

On Sunday, I woke up around 12pm. Hon Fei called us to eat breakfast +lunch. We went to Cheras to eat dim sum at 1.30pm. I continued to watch some entertainment programs before I went to meet with one of my UTAR XiaXiang friends in a Chinese restaurant near my house. She came to meet me and we chit chatted for about an hour.

Tomorrow, I will need to work again. Good luck to myself and hope that I can learn as much things as possible from my current senior about audit work because I will have a new senior after my work assignment finish this week.

End of CNY 2008

The 2008 Chinese New Year has just ended last Thursday. On that day, yong joo drove his car to work because he stayed overnight in his friend house in kl on wednesday. After work, Yong joo drove me and fook weng to eat our chap goh mei dinner. We thought of going to leisure mall to eat but we ended up in Tesco.

There are not many choices there and we chose Boston Grill. Three of us ordered the chicken chop set. After the soup and drink were served to us, the waiter came to inform us that there was some problem in the kitchen and hence, we would have to wait for an hour. Hence, we decided not to wait. At the end. we went back home cooking mee to eat. Haha. That was how we celebrate our chap goh mei.

Anyway, I want to wish all my friends and relatives again have a nice and prosperous new year 2008. All the best throughout the year.

My Convocation on 29th March

My UTAR Convocation will be held in the afternoon on 29th March 2008 at Wisma MCA. Welcome all my utar friends to come and we can take photos after the convocation ceromony.

Some information of the Convocation March 2008:

1. Payment of the deposit and fees need to be made by 7 March 2008
2. Graduation Attendance Form need to be completed and sent to Department of Examination and Awards by 14 March 2008
3. Convocation attire can be collected from 26 until 28 March 2008 (9 to 7pm)

I also hope to meet with my utar classmates and coursemates who are now working or studying somewhere. It is not easy to meet with each other as we are busy with our own work or study. Hence, convocation is a good time for us to gather and chit chat. See you all soon!!! We should take a lot of photos. Don't forget to find me take photo after the ceromony.

Start my working life!!!

1st Day work:

This Monday was my first day working in BDO. Nothing really happened. I reached the office at 8am by Star LRT from Salak Selatan to Jalan Sultan Ismail. After waiting for an hour in a meeting room with other freshies, the hr officer finally arrived to brief us about the dress code, the employee handbook and the forms that we require to fill in. This was followed by a touring around of the office, shaking hand with the partners, managers, seniors and other colleagues.

After this, audit associates like me are briefed by the manager of the audit operation about our job scope and so on. Our simple orientation just ended like this. Training will be done in the future. At that time, I was not assigned a job yet. So, I just went to the resource centre with few other new colleagues to fill in the forms as well as chit chatting. After lunch, I went with my colleague to open a public bank account for the purpose of crediting my salary.

Finally, I got work to do. Ken, my senior came to the resource centre to ask me to collect the files of the company. During the rest of day, I just do photocopying and filing jobs as well as reading the company's files.

2nd Day of work:
After collecting my laptop, my senior and I departed to the client office in Sungai Buloh. The company to be audited is a chemical trading company. He taught me alot of new things of how to audit and so on. He is not selfish to teach me if I dont know and understand something. Hence, I really learn alot from him.

Back to Kl oledi!!!

I reached LCCT Terminal from Labuan around 11.30pm. I supposed to reach earlier at 11pm but the flight was delayed for half an hour. I took a 4.30pm ferry from Brunei to Labuan. Because of heavy rain, the ferry was shaking which made me feel a bit headache. However, I still managed to sleep for a while during the one hour journey. After I reached the ferry terminal at 6pm, I bought some chocolates which are quite cheap because of the free duty in Labuan. Then, I took a taxi to the Labuan Airport and I had my dinner there.

The flight took off at 9.30pm. Throughout the flight, the plane did shake a bit because of the bad weather condition. Anyway, I reached safely at 11.30pm. I took an airport taxi which charged me 50 percent more because it was already midnight. It was a coincidence that the malay taxi driver did work in Brunei for 6 years before he came to kl to work. We chatted abotu the places in Brunei and his job as taxi driver. He is from Sabah. I reached my Bandar Sri Permaisuri home at 1pm.

I will start my work as audit assistant in BDO tomorrow. This will mark the beginning of my working life. Good luck to myself.

Malaysia's Election

The election for the new Government of Malaysia will be coming soon. The nomination day will be on 24 February whereas the polling day will be on 8 March. It is the responsibility of Malaysian to come out to vote for the representatives.

Please vote wisely for the responsible representative that can help to develop the place as well as to bring development to the country!!!

Valentine Day just pass...working life coming soon

The valentine day this year has just ended. I did not really celebrate because I am still single and available. However, I went to steamboating with my secondary school classmates and we gathered as well as gambled. At last, I won B$20 plus. Haha. I hope this year will be a lucky year for me.

Anyway, happy belated valentine day for all who have their partners as well as those who are still single like me. I hope that you all will find the right person to be your future and forever partner.

After few more days, I will end my holiday and begin my working life. Working and university life have a lot of differences. You can enjoy and went out and yumcha with friends until late of night during university life. For working life, you need to be punctual to work and hence, there will be less time for you to meet up with friends and chit chat until late night. Hence, I need to sleep earlier so that the next day, I will be able to concentrate fully on my job. But, I have to face the reality and move forward to fulfill my dream and ambition to be a successful entrepreneur. I am now working in accounting and auditing field. I hope that I will be able to adapt to this new life very fast and also I will enjoy my work as I am quite interested in accounting stuffs.

Just back from Kuching

Yesterday night, I just came back from Kuching to Brunei after a 14 hours car journey passing Serian, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri!!!We went to Miri to stay overnight on 6th February (Wednesday). We started our journey from Miri to Kuching at 5am and we reached Kuching around 5pm. We went to visit two cousins house and have our dinner at their hourse before we went back to BDC, a residential area in Kuching.

On Friday, we went to visit my grandmother and my mother side cousins at Matang and Batu Kawal. We also went to visit my elder brother's friend when he studied in US. After that, we went to shopping at Boulevard, a large shopping centre in Kuching. At night, we went to my father's brother house to visit.

We visited my father side cousins outside the city centre on Saturday afternoon, we then went to Spring which is another newly open shopping centre in Kuching. Then, we went to the Sunday market at Satok to buy some fruits. We suppose to back to Brunei om Sunday but it would be a bit rush. So, we decided to back on Monday.

On sunday morning, my mother suddenly did not feel very well. But, we still went to have breaksfast with our cousin at 3.5 miles. After that, we went to Matang again to visit our grandmother and have our lunch there. Then, I went out with Chiew Teck, my good friend and Ah Wei, my cousin. We went to Serian to visit our friend and stayed there for few hours. Before we went for movie at STAR Cineplex, we went to Chiew Teck's house and we also have our dinner there. At night, my father brought my mother went to see doctor at the Kuching Specialist Centre.

On monday, we departed back to Brunei at 6am and we reached Brunei around 10pm. My mother felt better when we reached Brunei house after eating the medicine. Before I go back kl, we will have open house on Friday and we have invited our relatives and friends to come. I will go back KL from Labuan this Saturday night and start my work at BDO on 18 February.

Happy Chinese New Year to all!!!

Today is already new year eve and tomorrow will be the first day of chinese new year. For the reunion dinner, hopefully all the family members will be able to gather together to eat happily. It is really not easy to gather all the family members especially those who work outstation or study in foreign countries. So, it will be a good chance for all to meet together. During the chinese new year, we will visit our relatives, good friends and some friends that we do not meet for a long time.

Hopefully, all of us will be able to live happily and in harmony during this RAT year. I wish the world will be peaceful to live and NO WAR, please!!! I want to take this opporunity to wish a very happy and prosperous chinese new year to all my relatives and friends, wherever you are!!!

I will have my reunion dinner in Brunei and we will stay overnight in Miri before depart to Kuching early in the morning, as planned earlier. Take care and keep in touch!!!
