A night of a thousand stars!!!

Yesterday, I went to the UTAR FAM Nite 2008 with yong joo and kent at the Golden Horse Grand Royal Ballroom. I met with a number of my juniors and we took alot of photos for memorable purpose. Tan Sri Dr. Ng Lay Swee, the UTAR President and CEO is the invited guest along with the designated President of UTAR Professor Chua and other senior officials of UTAR. Tan Sri is going to retire very soon, end of this week and our batch convocation will be her last event and day in UTAR. She has contributed very much to both KTAR and UTAR. I really appreciate her contributions and hard work during the past 30 years or more in the academic industry. Wish her happy retiring and enjoy the rest of her life.

My convocation will be coming very soon. It will be on this Saturday at 1pm at the Wisma MCA. My family members are coming to kl this wednesday. I miss them so much and hope to see them very soon. Goodbye!!!

I want to say goodbye to my roommate as he will go to Port klang to do audit for the next two to three months. He will stay in a 5 star hotel in Port Klang leaving us behind. Moreover, he is also from Klang. Hence, I will be alone in the room. No one can wake me up although I am the one who always wake him up. No one will be able to talk and chat with me before I sleep every night although we did not always sleep on the same time. Sad...

Anyway, all the best in his audit there. I am also auditing in Port Klang and it is quite near to his place of audit. But, we wont be able to meet each other so often. This is the audit life. You will be going outstation, to places like Johor, Penang and so on for a period of time to do audit.

Tomorrow will be a better day!!!

During the past few days after the election, there are some problems with the selection of few states' chief minister as there is conflict between the choice of the Sultan and the Federal Government. I really hope that these problems could be solved and settled as soon as possible so that the residents will be able to live in harmony and peacefully.

This morning, I, Bin Lie, Yong Joo and fook weng went to the Facon Education Fair at KLCC. Then, we went to shopping at Times Square, Pavilion, Sungei Wang as well as Lowyat. At the end, I bought new ties, ubs calculator and some books.

Tomorrow, I will start my interim audit of a logistic listed company at Port Klang along with one senior, another audit associate as well as a trainee for about two weeks. This is my first audit of public listed companies although it is only an interim audit. Hopefully, I will be able to learn as much as possible from my senior during this two weeks.

End of another weekend!!!

It was the polling day for the Malaysia's 12th General Election yesterday. The opposition party has won to become the state governement for Perak, Selangor, Kelantan, Kedah and Penang. It was a shock that the chief minuster of Penang, Dr.Koh has lost the election. Anyway, I just hope those representatives selected by the citizens will do their best for the people and fulfill the actions they promise the people.

Yesterday, I went to Sunway Pyramid to celebrate Esther birthday with Hon Fei. We went to watch a movie, "The Mist". It was considered a terror movie with a very sad ending. After that, I and Hon Fei went to eat dinner at Aman Damai after fetching Ai Qian back her house nearby. When I reached my condo, I received a call from Ah Hing, my utar xiaxiang member and friend. He invited me to play a friendly basketball match between the 3rd batch and 4th batch (our junior) xiaxiang.

So, I took lrt and ktm to Serdang after I took batch and packing my things. Ah Hing fetched me back to Bandar Sungai Long and I stayed overnight at Xiao Ting house in Glencourt. We watched live results of the 12th General Election and we went to yumcha as well as celebrated Sumin's birthday. During the 3 hours' mamak, we discussed alot about the election's results.

This morning, we departed to the Balakong's basketball court at around 7am. Luckily, the court was stil empty. The match ended with a win by 4th batch xiaxiang by 1 point. Anyway, we did enjoy the game and that was more important than winning a game. After eating our lunch in Balakong, I went to get my letters from Gary who stayed in my ex-condo now. I reached my home at around 2pm. I was so tired that I slept for about 3 hours before my roommate, yong joo came back from Klang. Yesterday, I just slept for few hours.Yong joo then fetched me and fook weng to eat our dinner at Aman Damai.

Tomorrow, I will audit a private company rather than a holiding company as stated by me last time. It will be a busy week again.

2 more days to come for election...

The Malaysia election will be held this Saturday. I just hope that it will be a fair election. I just heard the news about the case of EC Chairman. His house and car were spilled with paint. For those who do not plan to vote, try to vote if you can for the representatives that can really contribute and bring development to your area and place. For the representatives, dont promise because of promise and to win the election. Action is better than words!

It has been a busy week for me as I am auditing an international engineering and consulting firm near KLCC. Tomorrow will be the last day for me to go to the client place to do audit. Next week, I will audit a holding company whereas for the following, I will start to do an interim audit of a service listed company. At last, I have a chance to audit public listed company although I hope to learn to audit private company first. It will really be a busy month for me.

End of this weekend...

On Saturday morning, I and yong joo decided to attend the opening ceromomy of the UTAR ACCA conference in Bandar Sungai Long. We reached there around 9am and the opening ceromony has already started. We met with the ACCA officers, FAM dean and head of departments and we chit chatted for a while.

Then, we listened to talks by a KPMG partner and ACCA officer before we have our lunch(pan mee) with Hon Fei and Fang Ching, our very good friend at Balakong. The KPMG has mentioned that there will be an increase pay to RM2450 for fresh graduate starting next month. Wow, so good. But, I am not sure whether we will be entitled to this increase pay in other accounting firm.

At night, I, Bin Lie and Yong Joo went to shopping in One UTAMA after fetching Zhe Quan at PJ. We had our dinner at BBQ Plaza. The food there is quite nice and delicious and it is not so expensive. After that, we just shopped around before we met with Hon Fei and his friend. After, we went to yumcha with Kean yap(my ex-roommate) in Murni, a very popular mamak stall at Petaling Jaya. We left around 12am as we all already felt very tired.

On Sunday, I wake up quite late at 10am. Since Bin Lie went out with her friends, the house only left me and yong joo. We two decided to go to shop at Carrefour in Maluri and we ate our lunch there.

That's all for this weekend. Tomorrow, I will need to work again as normal. Hopefully, it will be a wonderful week for me. Chiew Teck, my ex-housemate in UTAR is coming from kuching for training in KL. He is currently working in UOB bank. I hope to meet him one of the next few days' night to have dinner with him.
